My Story
I wasn’t even 14 years of age, but my passion for history had already manifested itself. I recall spending days mesmerized by the magical world of yore learning about knighthood, reading medieval history, and, of course, being captivated by swords. This, combined with my penchant for artisanry, naturally drew me toward weaponsmithing. When I was 16, I forged my first sword and it wasn’t long before I began receiving regular orders. What started as a hobby back then has become my calling and a lifelong commitment. After more than 30 years of honing and polishing my skills, I feel delighted to share the fruits of my work with fellow historical fencing enthusiasts. Perhaps you can be one of them, too!

The steel I'm work with

The steel I most commonly use is cold- or hot-rolled 51CrV4. For Damascus blades, I find that C60 steel is the right tool for the job. I assemble the steel differently depending on whether the blade is intended for fencing or test cutting. And then there is torsion Damascus added here and there for good measure it is practically a science, believe me! However, regardless of my own preferences, my most important principle is to select materials and components only after consulting with my customers and understanding their needs. Despite my knowledge and extensive experience, receiving feedback remains the golden rule of my approach.

Knowledge

Besides bladesmithing, I am also an ardent bookworm. There is hardly a history fair I attend without finding a new book or an old, out-of-print treasure focusing on weapons from different historical periods. The pursuit of knowledge never stops, so why should I?

Custom Swords for You

Only in recent years have I realized just how many different types of swords I have crafted based on the ideas and requirements of my valued customers, getting invaluable insights in the process. Drawing on various historical periods, fencing traditions, body types, archaeological finds, and historical descriptions, I strive to ensure that each project culminates in a masterpiece worthy of its owner. I readily admit that there are occasional requests I cannot fulfill, but such cases are rare.
